Marketing The New Way

Now with the new way of marketing your business or product content is king. Consumers want to feel connected to your brand and online that means meaningful content otherwise you will loose them. Behind the scenes videos are great for this as they allow the consumer to really connect with your brand from a place where they don’t usually get access to. Also interviews with key persons in your company or yourself if you are a one person show. Forget about selling directly to your customer and instead just start by engaging them whether that be thru Facebook, YouTube or your blog/website. Give away lots of free content and keep the conversation going with your customers and let the selling take care of itself because it will people want to feel connected and to be apart of something these days in our disjointed world. The last thing they want is to be sold to, so do this at your peril. Because once they switch off to your brand it is much harder to get them back. The more you can engage your potential customers in “conversation” online and ore the sales will take care of themselves. Social media is still free even if Facebook are looking for more ways to increase revenue, all their paid services are still optional. It has been said many times but Facebook has a “population” bigger than the USA so why wouldn’t you want to expose your brand to these prospects. If you are planning a new business or don’t have a presence online yet don’t worry about building a website, start with a simple blog and get yourself a Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Tumblr accounts and start building an audience so when you have your website ready to Facebook than Twitter put your efforts into Facebook and vice-versa if your potential customer is to found on Twitter then you need to put your efforts into setting up and running a really good Twitter account.  The best thing about this new way of marketing is that it is free or really cheap as opposed to traditional tv or print advertising where you needed to spend a lot of money on something that a lot of people are switching off to.
